May 27th - 30th

                                                            Kiwanis Park: The plan is to walk to Kiwanis on Tuesday from 9:00-11:00, weather permitting. Due to the construction there, we're not sure what we be able to do. The playground structure and surrounding area are fenced off. I will drive down there on Monday to assess and make a final decision, so you will receive an email tomorrow. If we do go to Kiwanis, students may bring tennis rackets, kickball/baseball/softball equipment, basketballs, soccer balls, or other outdoor games to play. If we stay at Lincoln, we will watch the movie Felicity, which ties into our study of the American Revolution. Thanks for your flexibility! Penny Wars:  4th grade won the penny war competition!                                                                  Book Clubs:  Both books clubs are rapping up.  Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing  meets with me on Wednesday to discuss the final chapter and  Hatchet  meets with Mrs. Veenstra on Thursday. Hatchet will finish the following week. Thanks for your help making sure your child is prepared! All About Me:  Here is the  list  for the All About Me for the rest of the year. On their day, kids may bring a show and tell item or photo, share a talent, or bring a home toy. ABC Countdown:  This is the  countdown  for the end of the year dress up days/activities.                                                           NWEA Math:  We will take our final NWEA assessment for math on Tuesday and Wednesday. As always, students are allowed to bring gum, mints, or Jolly Ranchers to "wake up" their brains. Please avoid absences and make sure kids are prepared to show how much they have learned this year! Book Clubs:  Many students are reading a book for a book club in our class. Please ask your child if he/she read and completed the job. When kids are unprepared, it throws off the rest of the group.                                                                                  NWEA Reading: We will take our final NWEA assessment for reading on Tuesday and Wednesday. As always, students are allowed to bring gum, mints, or Jolly Ranchers to "wake up" their brains. Please avoid absences and make sure kids are prepared to show how much they have learned this year! Track Meet: We are in need of a wagon and volunteer to travel with us at the high school on Friday for the track meet. The kids will put their water bottles in the wagon so they can stay hydrated while they compete in the various events.
