                                                       Cozy Day: On Tuesday, kids may wear pajamas, including slippers and robes,  and bring a stuffed animal to celebrate our school PBIS reward and to support the 1st graders' music performance of "Pajama Party!" Valentine's Day:  Our class party will be on Friday, February 14th from 2:00-3:00. Kids are allowed to bring valentine cards, but they must bring them for all 24 kids in our class. Here is a class list if your child wants to write names on the cards, but it's not necessary. We will be playing a game, making a craft, decorating heart cookies, passing out cards, and having snacks/treats. If you would like to send something in, please use this signup form . Thank you!                                                               Math:  Last week, we completed lessons 2 & 3 in unit 5. This week we will complete lessons 4 - 8. Extra practice using the IXL textbook is available for those who struggle. Your child can also front load and work on the upcoming lessons to feel more confident in class! Music:  Remind your child to bring his/her recorder to school on Thursdays for music.  Recess/Weather:   Remember to send  your child with proper outdoor clothing for recess, including a change of socks & gloves.                                                                     NWEA Testing: Most kids are  done testing. Thanks for your help and support last week! The winter scores will go home with report cards the first week of March.  Math:  Last week, we completed the assessment for unit 4 and began unit 5. This week we will complete lessons 3 - 7. Extra practice using the IXL textbook is available for those who struggle. Your child can also front load and work on the upcoming lessons to feel more confident in class!                                                                    NWEA Testing: This week we will begin our winter NWEA testing. We will test in the morning all week, starting with reading and ending with math. Testing in small chunks will help the kids have more stamina. Students are allowed to bring in jolly ranchers and sugar-free gum or mints to "wake up their brains" and help with focus during the tests. Donations are welcome so everyone has something.
