Afternoon Snack: Many kids have been complaining about being hungry in the afternoon due to the earlier lunch time. If you want to send an extra healthy snack for the afternoon, they will be able to eat during social studies/science time when we're not usually on computers. If any problems occur, we will have to rethink this. Thanks for understanding!

Music: Recorders were passed out this week. Both the music book and the recorder may go home for extra practice but must be here for music class on Thursday. Thanks for your help making sure everything is here!  

Weather: Please make sure your child has appropriate winter gear for recess, including shoes to change into to for the classroom and extras due to wetness. Remember we go outside 3 times a day!

Holiday Party: Thank you to everyone who signed up to send in items for the party! We should be all set.

Math: Last week we finished lessons 9 - 12. This week we will work on lessons 13 - 16. Extra practice using the IXL textbook is available for those who struggle. Your child can also front load and work on the upcoming lessons to feel more confident in class!

All About Me!: Each week a student is the All About Me student. They have completed a poster in class and get to share special things about themselves each day. When it is your child's turn, I will send home a paper stating everything he or she needs. Jaia is up this week!

Monday - Media Center; wear red and green

Tuesday - PE; elf day

Wednesday - Late Start; Art; Grinch day; Nutcracker Performance

Thursday - Music; ugly sweater day; PBIS reward 

Friday - No Special; holiday pjs; SJHS holiday concert; party 2:00; break begins

Birthday Treats: We have students with allergies to gluten, tree nuts, and dairy. Please try to be mindful if you send a birthday snack with these items. I do have Skittles for those affected. Thanks for helping to keep everyone safe!

Volunteering: If you are able to volunteer in the classroom or willing to take projects home to complete, please fill out this form. Thank you for your willingness to help!

Class Parties: If you are interested in volunteering to organize classroom parties fill out the Google Forms. Thank you for your consideration!

                                                              Sarett Nature Center : Parents are welcome to meet us at Sarett Nature Center on Friday at 12:00. Please email me if you plan to attend, so I know how to best split up the kids into hiking groups. You will pay the entrance fee when you arrive. Our tour starts at 12:15. Remember to dress for the weather since we will be hiking! MStep Math: W e will start the test on Tuesday and will finish on Wednesday. May 5th - 9th

                                                                                 NWEA Reading: We will take our final NWEA assessment for reading on Tuesday and Wednesday. As always, students are allowed to bring gum, mints, or Jolly Ranchers to "wake up" their brains. Please avoid absences and make sure kids are prepared to show how much they have learned this year! Track Meet: We are in need of a wagon and volunteer to travel with us at the high school on Friday for the track meet. The kids will put their water bottles in the wagon so they can stay hydrated while they compete in the various events.                                                                 Senior Service Project Donations: This week only, please donate if you can. Smart Watches and Phones: Please note that students are not allowed to wear smart watches or have phones during the school day. They may leave them powered off in their backpacks. Thanks for your help keeping everyone safe! Math:  Last week, we completed unit 6/lessons 8-12. This week we will work on lessons 13-17.
