Movie Reward: We are going to watch the movie Because of Winn Dixie on Friday to celebrate the book we just finished reading as a class read aloud. The items listed in this signup are specifically mentioned in the book and I thought the kids would really enjoy them during the movie. Thanks for signing up for any item you can send in. I'm including the recipe for the punch we are making in case you are wondering what the juices are for!  If you could have the items sent in by Wednesday, that would be great. Thank you for helping to support our learning!

Recipe for Dump Punch

Math: This week we finished unit 2 on comparing fractions and started unit 3/lessons 1 & 2. This week we will work on unit 3/lessons 3-6. Extra practice using the IXL textbook is available for those who struggle. Your child can also front load and work on the upcoming lessons to feel more confident in class!

All About Me!: Each week a student is the All About Me student. They have completed a poster in class and get to share special things about themselves each day. When it is your child's turn, I will send home a paper stating everything he or she needs. Layleana is up this week!

Halloween Party: Our Halloween Party will be on Halloween from 2:00-3:00. We will have snacks, drinks, & treats, play some games, and make a craft. It will be a busy hour! All are welcome, but anyone who attends must have a volunteer form(see link below) completed in the office. The all school costume parade will follow the party at 3:15. 

Halloween: Student may wear costumes to school. All items must be appropriate for school. Masks and accessories will stay in backpacks so that learning can happen during the day. Thanks for your help with this!

Birthday Treats: We have students with allergies to gluten, tree nuts, and dairy. Please try to be mindful if you send a birthday snack with these items. I do have Skittles for those affected. Thanks for helping to keep everyone safe!

                                                              Sarett Nature Center : Parents are welcome to meet us at Sarett Nature Center on Friday at 12:00. Please email me if you plan to attend, so I know how to best split up the kids into hiking groups. You will pay the entrance fee when you arrive. Our tour starts at 12:15. Remember to dress for the weather since we will be hiking! MStep Math: W e will start the test on Tuesday and will finish on Wednesday.                                                                                  NWEA Reading: We will take our final NWEA assessment for reading on Tuesday and Wednesday. As always, students are allowed to bring gum, mints, or Jolly Ranchers to "wake up" their brains. Please avoid absences and make sure kids are prepared to show how much they have learned this year! Track Meet: We are in need of a wagon and volunteer to travel with us at the high school on Friday for the track meet. The kids will put their water bottles in the wagon so they can stay hydrated while they compete in the various events.                                                                 Senior Service Project Donations: This week only, please donate if you can. Smart Watches and Phones: Please note that students are not allowed to wear smart watches or have phones during the school day. They may leave them powered off in their backpacks. Thanks for your help keeping everyone safe! Math:  Last week, we completed unit 6/lessons 8-12. This week we will work on lessons 13-17.
