Patriot Day: Wear red, white, and blue for patriot day in honor of 9/11/01 on Wednesday!

All About Me!: Each week a student is the All About Me student. They have completed a poster in class and get to share special things about themselves each day. When it is your child's turn, I will send home a paper stating everything he or she needs. Willow is our first student up this week!

NWEA: Most kids finished the reading test last week. We are still working on the math, so kids may bring mints or sugar-free gum again. Thanks to Marguerite's family for donating extras to the class! We will finish testing this week, so they shouldn't be bringing gum or candy from now on unless they choose gum for a touchdown. 

Touchdowns: I will explain this at Back to School Night next Monday, but I am expecting kids to start earning touchdowns this week. Yay! I will sign a post-it note(real official document, I know!😆) to let you know what reward is chosen by your child.

                                                              Sarett Nature Center : Parents are welcome to meet us at Sarett Nature Center on Friday at 12:00. Please email me if you plan to attend, so I know how to best split up the kids into hiking groups. You will pay the entrance fee when you arrive. Our tour starts at 12:15. Remember to dress for the weather since we will be hiking! MStep Math: W e will start the test on Tuesday and will finish on Wednesday.                                                                                  NWEA Reading: We will take our final NWEA assessment for reading on Tuesday and Wednesday. As always, students are allowed to bring gum, mints, or Jolly Ranchers to "wake up" their brains. Please avoid absences and make sure kids are prepared to show how much they have learned this year! Track Meet: We are in need of a wagon and volunteer to travel with us at the high school on Friday for the track meet. The kids will put their water bottles in the wagon so they can stay hydrated while they compete in the various events.                                                                 Senior Service Project Donations: This week only, please donate if you can. Smart Watches and Phones: Please note that students are not allowed to wear smart watches or have phones during the school day. They may leave them powered off in their backpacks. Thanks for your help keeping everyone safe! Math:  Last week, we completed unit 6/lessons 8-12. This week we will work on lessons 13-17. Extra practice using the IXL textbook is available for those who struggle. Your child can also front load and work on the upcoming lessons to feel more confident in class!
